Tapestry Crochet

I've been experimenting with tapestry crochet lately, after I made the Mario mushroom hat for my brother and realized how fun it was. I made this musical note piece, which is going to be a part of a messenger bag I'm making for my sister-in-law:

It basically makes the chart for you so that you can crochet or knit whatever you want. The possibilities are endless! Before I found out about it, I printed out some graph paper and was trying to come up with my own designs, which I'd still like to do one day, but for now, while I'm still getting the hang of it, this thing will be my best friend. I've been having a lot of fun with it.

The Latest

Made those cuffs for a friend who wanted to do a craft trade. Pretty much improvised and I guess my first original pattern. I hope she loves them. Also sending her a pair of crochet bead earrings.

I am FINALLY getting my sewing/craft room. It's not going to be much, and it will be cramped, but it will be A ROOM. I am excited.

Mario Mushroom Hat

It’s far from perfect, but not bad considering this is the first time I’ve ever attempted something like this. The color changes, as you can see, got a little wonky sometimes, but it’s just a matter of getting used to it. I was surprised by how quick, fun, and easy it was. The chart was easy to follow. This is going to my brother for his 20th birthday, and I can’t wait to see how much he’s going to love it!

Friendship Cake

My current cooking adventure is friendship cake, which takes 30 days to make. I got the starter from Michael's aunt and also the sample of the cake, which is AMAZING.
